I am currently preparing for the UBI (VHF Certificate for Inland Navigation) and was looking for a simple, efficient way to learn the standardized question catalogs. The official questionnaires are extensive, repetitive, and not very motivating to study in their original form. I wanted a solution that allows structured learning, repetition, and measurable progress.

After searching online, I collected the official question catalogs and converted them into CSV files. These files are formatted in a way that they can be imported directly into Anki or other flashcard-based learning tools.
The idea was simple:
One question per card
The correct answer on the back
Clean formatting
No unnecessary distractions
This makes the material much easier to practice in short sessions and on multiple devices.
Why Anki Flashcards Work So Well
Anki uses a spaced repetition algorithm, which means:
Easy cards appear less often
Difficult cards are repeated more frequently
You focus automatically on your weak areas
Key advantages:
Efficient long-term learning
Ideal for large question catalogs
Works offline and on mobile devices
Free and open source
For standardized exams like UBI or FKN, this learning method is extremely effective.
How to Import the Cards into Anki
Download and install Anki from https://apps.ankiweb.net
Download the desired CSV file from the repository
Open Anki and click Import File
Select the CSV file
During import:
Map the first column to Front
Map the second column to Back
Activate HTML Detection
Choose or create a deck (e.g. “UBI”)
Finish the import and start learning
That’s it. The cards are immediately ready to use.
Available Question Catalogs
You can download the prepared CSV files here:

A transparent structure for further extensions
I hope this setup helps you prepare more efficiently and with less frustration.Good luck with your studies and success in your exam.
Happy learning! 🎉 🍀
